Vintage Japanese Geisha Kimono Girl Doll Glass Shadow Box
Absolutely gorgeous Geisha girl doll shadow box. In Japan Japanese dolls were a tradition in their culture to be given as gifts to celebrate marriages and children's growth.
The dolls face, hands and feet are porcelain. The kimono is silk brocade in orange, red, black, ivory and metallic silver. She has long black hair and she's holding a gold plastic dangling crane.
Cranes were known for their graceful courtship dance.
A Tsuzumi hand drum is on the wooden platform which were used for traditional events. Also on the platform is a wooden plaque with Japanese writing on it.
The Geisha girl doll shadow box was purchased in Japan in the 1960's and is in excellent condition. No damage to the doll or box.
